President's Corner

by Brent Holt

Doesn’t it feel like life is so much busier than it used to be? I know we all tend to hold onto fond memories of our past and block out unpleasant things.  This leads to the “things were better back when…” statements that we often find ourselves making.  However, I’m not talking about good or bad memories.  I’m talking about the stuff that takes up our minutes and hours from the time we wake up in the morning to the time we finally have to give in to fatigue at night and go to bed.  Doesn’t it seem like there is more going on all the time now?  I barely have time to eat dinner each night with my family, much less take on any new projects (like Bibles Cover The Earth).   At first I thought this was just my life and circumstances, but the more I have talked to people and pursued spreading the Bibles Cover The Earth mission and vision, I’ve discovered that everyone seems swamped with day to day activities.  Have you run into the “I’m not sure I have the time” barrier as you tell people about Bibles Cover The Earth? Since most of us can agree that we do not have all the time we want each day to accomplish everything we need to do, how then, as humans, do we get done what we need most to get done?  We have to prioritize. We all prioritize, whether we think we do or not.  As Christians, we just need to start doing it on purpose.

At our recent informational meeting, I asked people to consider making a list of the top four or five things that most often take up their day.  Maybe work, ballgames, a favorite TV show, hobbies…just to name a few.  After you have made your list of these time consumers, list next to each whether or not those things are being done to accomplish God’s purpose for your life or God’s will here on this earth.  Yes, No, or Maybe?  If your list is like my list has been, this exercise will very quickly reveal why much of the world today see’s Christianity as ineffective and hypocritical.   I’m not saying that it is wrong to do some of these things; I’m just saying that the way we order our list of priorities may be off the mark.

Consider the scripture in Matthew 6:33: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”  And also the first of the 10 Commandments in Exodus 20:3 “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”

So what does this have to do with Bibles Cover The Earth?  I promise I’m not just trying to make you feel guilty. My point is, God has a purpose for every one of us.  How are we fulfilling that purpose?  With your list of priorities as it may be, do you have the time and freedom and money to do what you feel you are called by God to do?  If not, Bibles Cover The Earth can provide you with any or all of these needs to help you as you “engage in good deeds to meet pressing needs, so that [you] will not be unfruitful.” (Titus 3:14).  Also, by participating in the Bibles Cover The Earth program, through the distribution of Bibles, you are remaking your list of priorities to include doing something to spread the Kingdom of God.

So, “Who has the time?”…nobody does.  But at the same time, everyone does, if we are willing to redo our priorities list to start seeking first the kingdom of God.

Bible Verse of the Month

"Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth."
1John 3:18

Bibles Cover The Earth Makes Donation to the Pocahontas Ministerial Alliance

Brent Holt presents a check to Pastor Lynn Ables, current president  of the Pocahontas Ministerial Alliance

Bibles Cover The Earth has made a $350 donation to the Pocahontas Ministerial Alliance.  This group is comprised of pastors and leaders from many different churches in the Pocahontas area and crosses denominational lines in an effort to further the work and gospel of Jesus Christ.  This donation will aid them in their efforts to help needy families and situations that may arise among the poor and destitute in this area.

New Ideas

In the months ahead, we are going to begin focusing on providing training and materials to the Embossing Centers of Bibles Cover The Earth in an effort to help you promote the vision and mission of the program.  Just like any business team, we all need a clear direction and some instruction on how to do what we want to do.  We all want this opportunity to blossom for many different reasons, and we here at BCTE are going to start with some changes to help that to happen.  Some of the things currently in the works include... revamping the website, developing an informational DVD that can be used to help with recruitment, and an 11x17 inch folded hand-out that can be used to help people see and understand all that Bibles Cover The Earth has to offer.  Some of these things will happen faster than others, but stay tuned as we strive to improve and grow!

Try It, You'll Like It

One of the first things we talked about while we were in the planning stages of Bibles Cover The Earth had to do with what people were going to do with "all these Bibles". As our name implies, we intend for the Word of God to go out into the world in ever increasing numbers. We decided that one of the benefits Bibles Cover The Earth, LLC would provide to our Embossing Centers would be a resource for outlets for their Bibles. We want to have an ongoing Bible request system set up through our company for the military, missionaries, and prisons. Anyone who needs or wants a Bible can let us know and one of the Embossing Centers can then "adopt" that person and provide them with an Embossed Bible. We started with the prison system here in Arkansas.

We are pleased to say that the response from the prisons here in Arkansas has been great! We have already sent over 100 Bibles to inmates at the correctional facilities in Pine Bluff, Tucker, and Newport. I think all the Embossing Centers who have sent these Bibles to the prisons would agree that it has been one of the most rewarding experiences of the program so far. It points at the very heart of our vision and mission here at Bibles Cover The Earth. Think of the impact these Bibles may very well be having on these men and women in prison.

If you have not had the experience of purchasing a Bible Pack, and then embossing the Bibles and giving them to someone, I would encourage you to give it a try. The need is great in more ways than one. In fact, we currently need your help just to keep up with the number of requests we are getting from the prisons. As I write this, we have about 55 more people from prison who have requested a Bible.*  T hat is more than the current number of Bibles that have been going to the prisons each month. And the more Bibles we send out, the more requests we get. It’s a wonderful problem to have; people are asking for the Word of God.

You may have thought that you wanted to wait until your downline was built before starting to order your monthly Bible Pack, but I encourage you to think of this business differently than you normally would. Not only is the purchase of monthly Bible Packs crucial to the success of all aspects of Bibles Cover The Earth, I believe that it is also important to the success of your own Bibles Cover The Earth business. Remember, "Give, and it will be given to you"-Lk 6:38. As you give people an embossed Bible, you will not only feel good about doing so, but you will also gain an ownership, so to speak, of the process and thereby be better able to talk about and promote the "Why" of why you personally joined Bibles Cover The Earth. I think that as you talk to others about Bibles Cover The Earth, you will find yourself consistently telling them about how rewarding it has been to you to get those Bibles out into the world. This will help your business to grow. So like I said at the beginning, "Try it, you’ll like it". -BH

*Once you have purchased your Bible Pack(s), if you would like to help us with the many prisoner names that are accumulating, please email us at BibleOutreach@BiblesCoverTheEarth.com and we will send you as many names as you want and instructions on how to get the Bibles to the inmates.

The Swipe

I want you to picture a combine in a field of grain. The grain is huge, tall, and ripe and the combine has made one “swipe” in the middle of the field. The path is obvious. There is no doubt that the field has been changed where the combine has been.

This simple parable is God’s design for His Word in the world where you and I live. The world is the field of grain and His Word is the combine. Consider this: Everything that the Word touches is changed forever and a difference should be seen in the Word’s effects. When the Word goes forth into the world we should see the “swipe” where it has been. In Isaiah God promises us that this will happen. He says His Word will not come back to Him void. Like the combine, the Word will create a “swipe” wherever it goes.

How many people really believe this? Let me encourage you with this thought. Every Bible that is sent out contains EVERYTHING that each person needs. Right now, there are many souls out in the field of this world who are looking for an answer of some kind and that number is increasing every day. The answer, no matter what the problem, is found in the Word.

At Bibles Cover The Earth we believe this so much that our primary goal is to get the Word of God into the hands of every person who wants one. Why? Because we know the power of the Word to make a huge “swipe” in our world no matter where we are on life’s journey. That’s why we rejoice in sending embossed Bibles to those souls in prison.

There is no greater gift that has more potential for affecting one’s life than the Word of God. As we grow together in the vision every month we are causing the “swipe” to get bigger. What a great opportunity each of us have. Let us seize the day.  -DFH

Nuggets From A Good Read

I have been reading and studying a book by top network marketers Mark and Rene Yarnell. Their book is called, Your First year In Network Marketing; Overcome Your Fears, Experience Success, and Achieve Your Dreams. It is a great book and a great read for all of us who are involved with network marketing. I thought I would share a few thoughts expressed in the book.

One of the best recommendations I found was the answer to building a genealogy. Two suggestions: (1) Learn the program you are involved with and (2) duplicate your knowledge. The idea is to take responsibility for your business by learning everything about the program and then teach others your knowledge. Yarnell stresses that genealogies do not grow when we do nothing and expect our sponsors to build our down-lines.

In the first chapter, Ignoring The Rejection Rocket, it says: “The first cause of failure occurs when new network marketers listen to people who don’t know what they’re talking about. The second cause of failure results from their NOT listening to those of us who do know what we’re talking about.”

“Rejection by family and friends is by far one of the biggest challenges in network marketing. But you can only change their attitudes by changing your own.”

“…I can try to avoid the pain of rejection and that is a three-step formula: say nothing, do nothing, be nothing. Persistence, coupled with absolute belief can never be defeated…”

“In traditional business, things may just happen, but in network marketing, success comes to those who make things happen.”

“Think of prospecting in multi-level marketing as a sifting process. Like a waitress walking around with a coffeepot, we are merely searching for those who would like to have what we have to offer.”

In the second chapter, Avoiding The Management Trap, the book brings forth some great solutions.

“Managing organizations for our families and friends often causes the very people we love most to fail.”

“In the business, everyone has the ability to do great things, but those who lean on their up-lines for every single thing are usually the ones who fail.”

“Set your sights on the goal, consistently meet the steps outlined in your business plan, and don’t make excuses – whatever it takes, just do it!”

“Network marketing is a business of distributors building their own front lines and teaching their people to duplicate the process.”

These nuggets of wisdom are great and can help us to succeed in our home-based business. These are from the first two chapters. I’ll share more next month. The book, however, can be found on Amazon.com and I think it is a must read for anyone serious about making their network marketing business a success.

Begin to think about your home-based business as a business. Reading and studying is a must for success in any business.
